Rightfully, Beary Arms Beginner’s Tips and Guide

RBA Tips and Tricks

Rightfully, Beary Arms has been in Early Access for more than two years, and now, with its official release this week, you can take control of Beary in our latest 1.0 update. The game boasts more than two dozen weapons to fend off enemies, memories/mementos to (re)discover, augmentations to alter munitions, unique builds for each run, and trying to survive a cute but tough roguelite bullet hell. This Beginner’s Guide will cover the critical essentials for the early game on your venture outside of Beary’s Bedroom!

Invigorating Inspirational Improovements

Throughout Beary’s journey, you will find Inspiration Points, which can be used to permanently upgrade Beary. Things like Weapons, Augmentations, and Calamities do not carry over through each run, but Inspiration Points do.

After completing the first dungeon in each run and each subsequent dungeon, you can see the percentage of drops in the next dungeon, such as the chance of Augmentations, Weapon drops, and Inspiration Points that can drop. For your several runs, it is ideal to always choose Inspiration Points for a dungeon reward, since you can use Inspiration at the Improve Machine to upgrade maximum health, increase damage from all weapons, and more.

You can also better your chances of obtaining Inspiration Points by obtaining Runtimes such as the Inspiration Comes Easy or the You Inspire Me Runtime, to receive two Inspiration Points upon death and increase the likelihood of Inspiration Points dropping.

The initial nodes of Health, Weapon, Economic, and Skill paths are ideal to unlock, since they only cost one Inspiration Point each, but the requirements for additional nodes on paths warrant more Inspiration Points. It will take many runs to unlock each node in the Health, Weapon, and Economic paths, but the Skill path, which increases the cooldown of Beary’s dash, only has four nodes in total to unlock.

It is optimal for the Skill path to be maxed out first before other paths, since dashing makes Beary invulnerable, cross gaps, reposition, and dodge incoming bullets. By allocating your Inspiration Points to the final node in Skill, Beary will have zero cooldown of dashes, so as long as he has a single heart left, you can zip around with the Remove Your Limits Skill. Dashing is one of the core mechanics to use in Rightfully, Beary Arms.

We Truly Live in a Plutocracy

Plu is the in-game currency found in Rightfully, Beary Arms, which can be looted from enemies, obtained as drops in large quantities, and even found in destructible crates. Plu does not carry over each run, but you can use the currency to purchase Weapons, Augmentations, and Health Packs in the stores.

shops

If you decide to hoard Plu and not use any in the stores on a run, it is best to grab a Runtime such as Plutocracy. The Plutocracy Runtime will consume all of Beary’s Plu and grant you an extra point of damage for each 1500 Plu consumed. If you love to go shopping in the store, then the Pay To Not Play Runtime will decrease boss health by 1% for every 500 Plu spent. Both of these Runtimes can turn the tide of the hectic dungeons to make them more manageable for you.

Nooks and Crannies

Some dungeons can be behemoths to conquer for Beary, with several large rooms to trek. Be sure to destroy any of the destructible crates to obtain additional Plu, and also by choosing The Eye of the Bee Holder Runtime, crates have the opportunity to drop health, as well.

Before going straight to the Teleporter, open your map up to do a quick scan of any areas in that level you may have missed. You do not want to go to the next dungeon and forget to pick up a Memento or a fashionable outfit for Beary’s Wardrobe. Beary cannot fight enemies without looking cute.

Corrosive Calamities

Calamities are negative effects that will hurt you throughout a run, and multiple Calamities can stack to make these effects harm Beary greater. Decreasing movement speed, increasing enemy waves, and even increasing shop prices in a run can all be inflicted by Calamities.

To mitigate the corroding effects of Calamities, choose Calamities that will be either neutral or not directly dampen your run. For example, if you find yourself picking up excellent Weapons like the Squirt Gun and granting it Augmentations, then rather than visiting a shop on a run, choose the Inflation Calamity, which will increase store costs by 50%. Since your run is not going to have Beary shopping, then forgo the shopping altogether due to the price gouging.

calamity

If you decide to choose a Calamity like BadBerries, Beary will have his movement speed decreased, but that means that you should employ the usage of your dash more often, rather than scampering around to make up for the movement speed loss.

Hopefully, these beginner’s tips will aid your upcoming runs, and do not forget the acronym ABD, as we like to call it. Always Be Dashing.
